The province will invest a further $2.7 million into the trades programs at North Island College. The money will fund 744 placements in the electrical, welding, carpentry, plumbing, cooking and heavy duty equipment programs. John Bowman, president of North Island College said the funding provides opportunities for North Island students to develop practical skills and knowledge in more than 20 different trades and technology programs across the region. He said the funding also allows students the ability to receive industry-relevant trades training close to home.
