WorkSafe BC is asking drivers to watch for roadside workers. Industry and Labour Services Manager Mark Ordeman says the number of injuries increases during the fall and winter. He says they are asking drivers to be extra vigilant, be aware, and slow down. It’s not just construction and landscapers at risk says Ordeman, “equally important is keeping our eye out for delivery and carrier drivers, anyone that is in a vehicle that often stops and that they are in and out of that vehicle a lot.” 15 workers have been killed and 280 injured during the winter months over the past decade.
