Comox Valley RCMP have begun planning for next year’s Mountie boot camp. The camp runs during spring break and gives high school studentsin grades 10-12 the chance to learn what it takes to be a police officer. Constable Rob Gardner says Mountie camp is based on RCMP training in depo. Students will do drills, physical exercises, and sit is classes. Students interested have to go through an application process which includes interviews and criminal record checks. Those chosen will stay at HCMS Quadra for the duration of the camp. The 2017 Mountie Camp will take place from March 26th – 31st. Students interested can talk to their work experience coordinator for more information.
