Canada Post is gearing up for the busy holiday season. Spokesperson Aurelie Walsh says the corporation is expecting record-breaking volumes of mail. “E-commerce is changing everything about holiday shopping, and people are really turning to online shopping to avoid standing in line,” states Walsh. “We deliver 2 out of 3 parcels ordered online so we are looking forward to a very exciting season.” The company is also extending its hours to ensure that customers get their parcels on time. “We are starting to deliver on weekends on November 27th, we hired 2,500 female workers, we are arranging to rent an addition 900 vehicles to help with deliveries, we are getting extra equipment, and looking at extending our retail hours.”Customers are advised to send out-of-province mail by December 18th to ensure it arrives before Christmas.
