B-C’s new natural-gas-powered ferry the Salish Orca entered the Panama Canal on Sunday as it makes its way to Victoria from Poland. The new ferry crossed the Atlantic Ocean from the Canary Islands where it stopped two weeks ago to refuel and pick up supplies. It’s the first of three ships being built for the province at a Polish shipbuilding company and is expected to arrive in B-C in early January. The Salish Orca will be providing service between Comox and Powell River by spring 2017
