Drug users and advocates are calling for policy improvements as the overdose crisis continues to claim lives in B-C and across the country. Rallies were held across Canada on Tuesday where people called for more safe injection sites and the decriminalization of drugs. Jack Phillips with the Victoria-based harm-reduction group Solid says a safe injection site there would prevent more unnecessary deaths and cut the costs of policing. More than 900 people across B-C died of illicit drug overdoses last year.
