I-C-B-C says it’s expanding its specialty licence plate program to include support for charities and not-for-profit organizations. Transportation Minister Todd Stone says the move follows the success of B-C Parks license plates — with more than 14-thousand sold since their launch at the end of January to help support provincial parks. Stone says the expanded program will let British Columbians support other worthwhile causes such as registered charities and non-profit groups. A formal call for applications from sponsors of the new plates is expected in the fall, with plates available for purchase next year.
