National Day of Mourning
             Friday is a National Day of Mourning to honour workers killed on the job. A flag-raising ceremony will be held at Simms Park in Courtenay at 10 in the morning to mark the event. In February and March alone, six workers were killed on the job in B-C. In 2016, there were 144 work-related fatalities across the province.
