Smoke from the wildfires in the central and southern Interior is causing problems as far south as Vancouver. It was so thick in Kamloops this morning that several flights had to be cancelled due to poor visibility, although everything is now back on schedule. Air quality in Kamloops, Williams Lake, Quesnel and the North Okanagan is rated as carrying a high or very high health risk for infants, the elderly and those with lung or heart conditions. An air quality advisory has also been issued for B-C’s Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley due to high levels of fine particulates and it’s expected to be in effect for at least the next 24 hours.
