B-C’s energy minister says the move by Malaysian energy giant Petronas and its partners to scrap the Pacific NorthWest L-N-G megaproject was a private sector decision. Michelle Mungall (mun-GALL’) says the company was very clear that its decision was due to economic challenges in the global energy market place. The B-C Liberal caucus was quick to blame the move on what it called the “closed for business” agenda of the N-D-P government. But the C-E-O of Petronas’s oil and gas production division says the election of the New Democrats played absolutely no role in the decision.
