Police say a — quote — “freak accident” at a golf course on Vancouver Island could have had tragic consequences. Constable Gary O’Brien with Nanaimo R-C-M-P says a man was playing the 16th hole of a golf course in Lantzville last week when he dropped to the ground in extreme pain. The man’s leg started to bleed and he later went to hospital, where he learned there was a bullet lodged in his calf. O’Brien says the golfer was likely hit by an errant shot from somebody shooting targets in the bushes
