Three more approvals have been issued for the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion in B-C. The approvals issued by the National Energy Board allow construction to begin at the Westridge Marine Terminal, where the Burnaby Mountain tunnel portal will be located. Burnaby’s mayor has vowed that the route will never be approved. Federal, provincial and municipal permits are still needed, but the board says allowing the work to begin now helps avoid potential impacts on migratory birds that use the area later in the spring.
