Ottawa has announced a new deal with British Columbia that will see the federal government spend 4.1-billion dollars on infrastructure in the province over the new decade. The agreement follows a report by the Parliamentary budget officer that found Ottawa was falling behind on the spending program. Federal Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi says the money will go to transit in the Lower Mainland, green infrastructure, recreation facilities, and projects in rural and northern communities.
