The head of a conservation group says he’s glad it’s now illegal to trophy hunt grizzly bears in B-C. New regulations that came into effect yesterday ban any trophy hunting of the large carnivores. Chris Genovali, who is executive director of the Raincoast Conservation Foundation, says he’d also like to see stronger wording around the definition of ‘hunting for food.’ Genovali says like wolves or cougars, he doesn’t believe grizzlies are hunted for meat.
