Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will bring his cabinet to Nanaimo for a retreat next week to discuss growing the economy and job creation. The three-day meeting starting August 21 will be the first since the prime minister added five new cabinet members and rearranged the portfolios of six other ministers last month. The Prime Minister’s Office also says the meeting will focus on diversifying international trade, eliminating trade barriers between the provinces and maintaining the integrity and security of Canada’s borders. Trudeau has announced he’ll hold a first ministers’ meeting sometime this fall, specifically to look at the elimination of trade barriers between the provinces and territories.
