Wrapping up his Liberal cabinet retreat in Nanaimo, Prime Minister Trudeau chose his words carefully to avoid wading into the Conservatives’ civil war. He said he’s been focused with his team for the past few days on planning the fall sitting of Parliament, and added — quote — “We’re going to let Conservatives focus on themselves… We’re going to stay focused on Canadians.” However, Trudeau did take a shot at the Conservatives over the revelation that a Tory robocall in a Toronto riding used the cancer diagnosis of the riding’s Liberal M-P to try to recruit new members. Trudeau expressed disgust that any party would bring a cancer struggle into partisan politics.
