A new B-C Hydro report says climate change has led to a large number of power outages in the province. The report says storm and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and severe as a result of climate change, leading to damage of B-C Hydro’s electrical system. Falling trees and branches during storms are the primary cause of power outages in the province. B-C Hydro recommends British Columbians prepare for weather-related outages by having a well-stocked emergency kit at home.
