BC Hydro has increased the flow from the Comox Lake reservoir into the Puntledge River to make room for more upcoming storm events. Spokesperson Stephen Watson says the river will be rushing several times faster than normal. He says the dam has moved up a few metres, putting us about 1 m from free spilling over. Watson explains it’s not a bad thing, it just gives us less storage room in the dam. Since Tuesday of last week, the region has received more than 150 mm of rain.
