BC Hydro is warning of the potential for isolated flooding downstream of the Puntledge River with more heavy rain on the way. Spokesperson Stephen Watson says the power company is trying to limit the amount of water being released from the Comox dam. He says the problem is, we have significant storms heading this way over the next few days that are looking like atmospheric river type storms. “This is an indication this wet weather isn’t going anywhere and there will be high flows throughout this week, well into next week as we try to manage the system” continues Watson. BC Hydro is working closely with the City of Courtenay to manage the water flow.
