A survey done by Insights West found that a majority of Canadians support banning trophy hunting. Pollster Mario Canseco says 80 per cent of respondents support enacting legislation to ban trophy hunting in their province. Eighty-four per cent of aboriginals would support legislation to ban trophy hunting and 90 per cent oppose hunting animals for sport. Thirty-nine per cent of those polled say they would be more likely to vote for a federal party that vowed to make trophy hunting illegal.
