The Alberta government says it will seek intervener status in any lawsuit against the proposed Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. Premier Rachel Notley’s government made the announcement in its throne speech onn Thursday. Energy Minister Marg McCuaig-Boyd says the province is focusing on court hearings at the federal level for now, but will not rule out addressing lower courts. In January, the City of Vancouver voted to go ahead with a judicial review of B-C’s environmental assessment of the 6.8-billion-dollar project.
