B-C’s minister of education says he’s pleased that teachers across the province have voted to accept a deal that puts an end to a 15-year long bargaining battle. Mike Bernier says reaching an agreement was complex, but the deal will reduce teachers workloads and see thousands of new educators brought hired in the coming months. The union representing teachers issued a release Friday night teachers voted 98 per cent in favour of accepting the agreement on class size and composition. Details of the deal — including how many new teachers will be hired and how much implementation will cost — have not been released.
