The Surrey Board of Trade wants the federal government to slow down as it moves ahead with legalizing marijuana. Board C-E-O Anita Huberman says the government’s task force report that was released last fall focused on youth, driving and distribution — but not on the workplace. She says the government need to draw up definitions of impairment in the workplace, especially when it comes to operating machinery or productivity issues. Six thousand of the board’s member businesses responded to a survey, and Huberman says marijuana legalization and its implications were listed as a major concern.
