British Columbians have been seeing political ads for months, but Tuesday is the day the provincial election officially begins. Liberal Leader Christy Clark is expected to ask the lieutenant governor today to dissolve her government ahead of the May 9th fixed election date. Clark spoke to supporters at a dinner in Vancouver last night, saying the province is in a great place economically, but a steady hand is necessary to keep growing. The Liberals have promised to freeze income taxes, deliver balanced budgets and create jobs, while the New Democrats have said they will freeze B-C Hydro rates, eliminate bridge tolls and create 10-dollar-a-day daycare.
