Health officials on Vancouver Island say hundreds of diagnostic imaging reports will be reviewed after questions were raised about the accuracy of one radiologist’s readings. Island Health says the radiologist produced thousands of reports on C-T scans, X-rays and ultrasounds while working at facilities in Campbell River, Nanaimo, Parksville and Port Alberni. They say the review will begin with 500 C-T scans that were done at Campbell River Hospital — the last Island Health facility where the radiologist worked. Officials says the review is a precautionary step and if any significant clinical discrepancies are found, patients will be contacted by their physicians.
