An energy megaproject in northern B-C is fuelling debate on the campaign trail. Liberal Leader Christy Clark was in Fort Saint John yesterday where she promised that the Site C dam will bring stable jobs to the region and create clean energy to fuel the province’s growth. But N-D-P Leader John Horgan says the B-C Utilities Commission should review the 8.8-billion dollar project to decide whether it proceed. Green party Leader Andrew Weaver has promised to kill the dam, after initially supporting it in 2010, saying an environmental assessment completed in 2014 highlighted the permanent damage Site C would have on the environment, farmland and wildlife.
