A tricky political situation is looming in British Columbia as politicians ready to return to the legislature. Premier Christy Clark has said her Liberals will appoint a Speaker, but if her minority government is defeated as is expected, tradition dictates that someone new be picked for the position. N-D-P Leader John Horgan says he believes whoever takes the post when the legislature reconvenes next week should hold the job following the expected defeat of the Liberal government in a confidence vote later this month. But current Attorney General Andrew Wilkinson disagrees, and suggest it would be up to the New Democrats and Greens to supply a speaker if the N-D-P forms a minority government.
