The first official weekend of the summer shattered a number of temperature records across B-C. Environment Canada says Chilliwack, Hope, Squamish, Gibsons, Cache Creek and the Victoria Harbor all saw record breaking temperatures above 30 degrees this weekend. Lytton was the hottest place in the country as temperatures creeped above 36 degrees Celsius, breaking a 1926 record. The forecast is looking a tad cooler today and Environment Canada has ended its special weather statement that covered much of the southern part of the province.
