Officials say B-C’s challenging wildfire situation could last for many weeks as hot, dry conditions persist across the province. B-C’s chief fire information officer Kevin Skrepnek says there were more than 160 fires burning yesterday, including 15 that posed a threat to communities. Fires have forced about 37-thousand people from their homes and Transportation Minister Todd Stone says resources in Kamloops — where many evacuees have taken refuge — are getting close to being stretched. But Stone says no evacuees will be turned away and B-C will get through the difficult situation, because British Columbians are resiliant.
