Now a Category 1 storm, hurricane Irma is expected to weaken to tropical storm status as it moves over northern Florida or southern Georgia on Monday. But Irma is still dangerous as it heads towards the Tampa Bay region, bringing strong winds, flooding and storm surge. Irma made landfall on the Florida Keys yesterday as a Category 4 storm, cutting off communications to some regions, so the extent of the damage is still unknown.
