Almost all of southern B-C has been placed under a weather warning or watch as a cold and moisture-laden front moves over the area. Environment Canada has placed snowfall warnings up for the Fraser Canyon, several parts of the Coquihalla Highway, the Nicola area and the Similkameen, with snow of up to 15 centimetres predicted by Tuesday. A winter storm watch has been issued for Elk Valley, Kootenay Lake, the West Kootenay, and the Boundary region with a forecast of up to 25 centimetres of snow expected overnight. Special weather statements have also been issued for many areas including Metro Vancouver that calls for snow at the higher levels by Tuesday and flurries by Thursday as temperatures drop.
