If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a ferry, now is your chance. B-C Ferries’ Queen of Burnaby is up on the auction block, although an online posting warns the boat — built in 1965 — is a little worse for wear. The auction site says the vessel is for sale as is, has had periodic oil leakage and contains hazardous materials, including asbestos and diesel fuel. Dan Guenette of B-C Ferries says anyone looking to buy the boat would have to be looking at recycling or scrapping it, or using it in a static form.
