The president of the B-C Taxi Association is calling for a single app to be approved province wide, allowing customers to summon a ride. Mohan Kang told an all-party committee that ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft could destroy the taxi industry and put drivers out of work. He says ride sharing services must be held to the same regulatory standards as taxi associations if they are allowed to operate in B-C. he association is among numerous industry groups and experts presenting to the committee this week on the future of ride-hailing services in B-C.
