After insisting as recently as a week ago that marijuana legalization was on track for July, the Liberal government is now conceding that it will be late summer or early fall before Canadians can legally purchase recreational marijuana. The Senate has agreed to vote on Bill C-45 by June 7th, royal assent would follow almost immediately. But Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor says provincial and territorial governments will need eight to 12 weeks after that to prepare for retail sales.
