Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is linking British Columbia’s record-high gas prices to a contentious pipeline project B-C opposes. While in Vancouver promoting the expansion of tech giant Amazon’s hub, he also spoke about the stalled Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. Trudeau said Canada currently ships oil only to the U-S and loses 15-billion dollars a year by not getting a greater amount to the coast for export to other markets. He says being so closely linked to the U-S market is partly why gas prices have spiked to $1.60 a litre in the Vancouver area.
