B-C Wildfire Service crews were able to make some headway over the weekend, as weather conditions allowed them to burn fuel in the path of B-C’s biggest wildfire. The fire near Shovel Lake has prompted several evacuation orders and alerts from the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (nuh-CHA’-ko) over the past week. Service crews battling blazes near Kimberley are hoping to use the same strategy to slow down the fire burning 25 kilometres away from that city. Kimberley Mayor Don McCormick says evacuation notices have been hand-delivered to 45-hundred residents.
