B-C Centre for Disease Control has issued a warning to mushroom lovers that a deadly variety has been found in 100 locations in the Vancouver area. The centre says the warning was prompted by a proliferation of death cap mushrooms due to wet weather. It says it handled 30 mushroom exposure calls between June and August, but saw 16 last month alone. The centre has produced new multilingual warning posters and brochures designed to help the public identify death caps in the wild and are asking people to report any sightings to help identify just how far the mushrooms have spread.
