Private operators are moving to provide service to much of B-C following Greyhound’s decision to leave but holes still remain. Transportation Minister Claire Trevena says 83 per cent of Greyhound’s routes are destined to be covered by private companies. She says the routes from Cache Creek to Kamloops and Kamloops to Valemount and Dawson Creek to the Alberta border are among those that will not have any bus service. She says the government is working with the Passenger Transportation Board to fast-track applications for private entrepreneurs to restore service to smaller, more remote communities.
