B-C First Nations leaders say they’ve been trying for decades to get the provincial government to fulfil its promise to share the wealth on gambling money. Premier John Horgan announced during a B-C cabinet – First Nations leaders gathering that it would be sharing the funding, although he couldn’t give a dollar figure. First Nations Summit member Robert Phillips says they’ve been fighting for gaming revenue for 20 years and the funding will mean jobs and prosperity for First Nations. Cheryl Casimer, with the First Nations Summit, says the funding is part of a renewed vision for reconciling Aboriginal title and rights.
