A grizzly hunting guide has launched what he hopes will be a class-action lawsuit over the provincial government’s 2017 ban on hunting the bears. Ron Fleming’s lawsuit is seeking compensation for all B-C guide outfitting businesses hurt by the hunting ban. His B-C Supreme Court civil lawsuit says the provincial government closed the hunt over public opinion and for political or social reasons, harming the two-thousand people employed by the industry. The statement says hunters spend as much as 25-thousand dollars American for a guided hunt and when the ban was announced many outfitters had to cancel bookings that has been confirmed through to 2021.
