British Columbians have chosen to keep the first-past-the-post voting system instead of switching to proportional representation to elect members of the legislature. This is the third time voters have been asked if they want to make a change to the voting system. The current system received 61.3 per cent of the votes cast, while proportional representation got 38.7 per cent. About 1.4 million votes were counted.
