Indigenous protesters blocking access to a planned pipeline in northern B-C say they’re anticipating action by the R-C-M-P to enforce to an injunction filed against them. TransCanada says it has signed agreements with all First Nations along its Coastal GasLink pipeline route to L-N-G Canada’s 40-billion-dollar liquefied natural gas project in Kitimat. However, Jennifer Wickham, a member of the Gidimt’en (GID’-im-den) clan of the Wet’suwet’en (wet-SOO-wed-en) First Nation, says the company lacks the authority to build through their territory because hereditary chiefs haven’t given their consent.
