BC SPCA Dog Training

The B-C S-P-C-A is launching a program to accredit dog training businesses in an industry that is currently unregulated in the province. Doctor Sara Dubois, chief science officer for the association, says many trainers say they’re using humane methods but there has been no way to assess them or make a referral. The B-C S-P-C-A says the program is called AnimalKind and it uses standards that are humane and reward-based to audit companies. It says the standards were developed after a thorough review of scientific research and feedback from international animal behaviour and dog training experts.
