The Crown agency that operates B-C Place Stadium has been given approval to start looking for sponsor interested in naming rights. Tourism Minister Lisa Beare says the corporate sponsorship will generate significant benefit for residents of the province. The government says the B-C Pavilion Corporation is being allowed to issue requests for proposals for the naming rights for the Vancouver stadium, which will be managed in consultation with the province. Corporation chairman Ian Aikenhead says B-C Place is one of only a few venues of its size and profile in North America that has yet to capitalize on that type of revenue opportunity.
