The province says sailings will be restored as of Monday on the majority of ferry routes that were cut in 2014. Transportation Minister Claire Trevena says her government is committed to ensuring ferry service meets the needs of people living in coastal communities who rely on them for day-to-day travel. She says in a statement that the BC Ferry Advisory Committee requested the restoration of some services cut in 2014 and her ministry and B-C Ferries have reached an agreement to return the services over the next year, with most starting on April 1st. The agreement will see over 27-hundred additional round trips added to schedules on 10 minor and northern routes.
