The province has declared this week as emergency preparedness week. Jennifer Rice, the parliamentary secretary for emergency preparedness, says everyone should have a plan in place, with an emergency kit and a grab-and-go bag at the ready. Rice says British Columbians should also think about where they would get timely and verified information in their community. She says people who experienced the impacts of record-setting floods and fire seasons last year are still dealing with some of the effects, including in Grand Forks and Ashcroft.
