B-C’s Attorney General says the province has re-filed its lawsuit against Alberta’s so-called “turn off the taps” law with the Federal Court, after an judge stayed the lawsuit in Alberta’s superior court. Queen’s Bench Justice Robert Hall stayed the lawsuit last week saying the proper venue for the interprovincial disagreement is Federal Court, which was specifically created to adjudicate between governments. B-C now takes its lawsuit there, in hopes the court will declare the law allowing Alberta to shut off oil shipments to the coast unconstitutional and grant an injunction preventing its implementation.
