A wildfire discovered Sunday evening has prompted an evacuation alert for several nearby properties in the district of Okanagan-Similkameen and the Osoyoos Indian Band. The regional district is advising residents to take proactive measures to prepare for an evacuation order in case the one-point-two-square-kilometre Eagle Bluff fire grows. Fire information officer Hannah Swift says conditions are expected to remain hot and dry in the next few days, and six helicopters have been assigned to support more than a hundred personnel. Swift says the fire is being investigated as being caused by human activity.
