The Environment Ministry has announced a new service that will automatically send people air quality advisories. Residents can enter their email on the Government of British Columbia’s air quality website to automatically receive air quality advisories and smoky skies bulletins in their communities. Environment Minister George Heyman is especially urging people with pre-existing health conditions or who are more vulnerable to sign up for the notifications so they can take steps to protect their heath. The subscription service is expected to also be available through text starting next year.
