B-C Hydro is calling some crew members back from vacation early as a strong Pacific storm takes aim at the B-C coast. It says the workers are being brought back in anticipation of power outages across the south coast. Environment Canada says the storm will bring heavy rains and strong winds — with the heaviest rainfall predicted for the central coast, north and west Vancouver Island as well as Squamish, northern sections of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The weather agency says snow will spread onto the inland sections of the north coast and will intensify with 30 to 60 centimetres expected in some areas.
